-History

-Allier Méca Industries came into being with the take-over of the activities of MGB (Mécanique Générale de la Besbre) by a plan of sale to the Commercial Tribunal.
- Most of the staff and all the assets were taken over. The know-how, skills and resources are therefore maintained.
Allier Méca Industries takes on the history of MGB by taking over its assets, i.e. a history of over 40 years in mechanical engineering, a career full of experience, its development and ethic geared towards customer satisfaction.

Some historical background:

It was in Besbre valley, in Sologne Bourbonnaise, in the heart of the Allier department (03), that in 1965 a small family general engineering company was set up. At that time it employed about a dozen staff and had conventional production equipment.
With high ambitions, MGB saw “bigger”. In 1990, a  2 400 m² building extension was financed by the Vaumas and Dompierre-sur-Besbre communes. This new factory welcomed the arrival of digital production equipment. In 1994, the construction of a Reception warehouse led to a new 360 m² extension. In 1996, a further 830 m² was added to the area of the company.
In 1999, the Bréa foundry situated in Montluçon (03), bourght MGB. A remarkable future took shape for this company which now employed around 80 staff. Through Bréa, MGB was incorporated in the PEUGEOT  JAPY group. From then on, new commercial prospects led MGB towards the automobile industry. Flexible and reactive, MGB adapted perfectly to the requirements of this industry. Its turnover and staff numbers increased. 1999 is also memorable as ISO 9002 version 1994 certification was obtained..

SOCOMEB (71) merged with MGB in 2001. All of its human, production and control resources were moved to the MGB premises. The company then offered its customers modern production equipment, for medium- to large-scale mass machining of parts.

In 2002 MGB joined the EurALcom group (leader in Europe for aluminium). A federator, MGB also obtained, thanks to the involvement of all the staff, ISO 9001 version 2000 certification. The company tirelessly strove to broaden its know-how and face new challenges by investing heavily in robotised production lines.
MGB continued to develop on the automobile market, and in  2006 (April ) the Euralcom Group, in difficulty, could
not save its subsidiary Bréa S.A., a major shareholder of MGB. On the brink of cashflow problems, Bréa S.A. declared itself
in suspension of payments and went  into receivership on 28 April 2006. Consequently MGB was also in a position of
suspension of payments and went into receivership.
A management take-over plan has been put forward to the Commercial Tribunal; this plan will be approved on
22 February 2007 with actual transfer on 1 March 2007.
